The European Commission has approved the summaries of the large infrastructure projects from the main list

On 2nd of May 2017, the European Commission has approved the summaries of the large infrastructure projects from the main list, projects which will be financed in the framework of the Joint Operational Programme Romania – Republic of Moldova 2014 – 2020.

The four large infrastructure projects from the main list are the following:

  • Communication infrastructure, total budget 7,8 million euros;
  • Regional cooperation for prevention and combating trans-border criminality in Romania and Moldova, total budget 10 million euros;
  • The CBC Romania-Moldova a safer area by improving the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) operating infrastructure, by increasing the level of training and maintaining the capacity of professional personnel to intervene in emergency situations, total budget 10 million euros;
  • Rehabilitation and modernization of the customs offices from the Romanian / Moldavian border, respectively the customs offices of Albiţa – Leușeni, Sculeni – Sculeni and Giurgiulești – Giurgiulești, total budget 10 million euros.

In the next period, the leaders and their partners will develop the grant application and technical documents related to the second stage. By the end of 2017 the full projects’ documentation will be forwarded to the EC for approval, and the implementation stage will commence in early 2018.
